We just got our new computer so I am playing catch up on blog reading… Two years ago I had a miscarriage, it was our first pregnancy. One week we had an ultrasound with a heartbeat, the next there was nothing on the screen (that I could see.) It is a hard experience, and my thoughts and prayers are with you. You have such a great attitude about it though which will carry you through. I am sure you have cried about it though, as you should – do not hold the tears back.

I’m sorry for your loss. I know the pain of losing a baby and it’s got to be extra hard around the holidays. You sound positive but remember to give yourself time to grieve the baby you had for a little while. Hugs to you all!

I’ve had several miscarriages and even had a son who died just two hours after birth but I also have six kids here in this world, so when I tell you to spend some time grieving, I know what I’m talking about. You should name this baby so you don’t have to refer to it as “the baby we lost”, make this baby a part of your family…always, it will help heal your soul, and give your children a gift, knowing they have someone at their level in Heaven. Every child has a purpose, as did this sweet baby, perhaps to bring your family closer, I can’t tell you that, but be thankful. I will pray for you tonight at Mass, knowing Jesus will give you the grace you need to go through this very sad time. Peace to you and your family.

Well good luck this next year Mary. Sometimes women are super fertile after a loss, let’s hope that’s your luck. Jeremy was definitely sad this time to miss out on our normal however many number of months of “trying”
