Della Voce

by the Provident Woman | November 4th, 2009

I don’t know if I’ve mentioned it before. If I haven’t, I should have. I absolutely love my husbands iPhone.

My husband and I were blessed a little while back with a baby sitter so we could go out to a nice dinner. Hum. Where to go. No contest when it’s just the two of us. We went to Della Voce. Our new favorite restaurant. Once we were there I was bummed I didn’t have my camera. So he whips out his iPhone. My phone takes pictures too, but I would have no idea how to get them off of it.

This place is great. There is art everywhere. Even on the ceiling. And they have this great metal bead curtain separating the bar area from the dining tables.

All of the art on the walls are very similar.

So are the tables. But look how fancy.

Oh, but the best part… The food. They always bring bread and butter. The butter is always something fancy like this, garlic-rosemary. And um um good.

My husband ordered a Caesar Salad for his antipasto. Oh man, it looked so good from my side of the table.

But before I could sneak a bite he had eaten it all. Pig.

This was my antipasto. Clam Chowder. The best Clam Chowder I’ve ever had.

And it was gone before I knew it. Pig.

Yes, we are just a bunch of pigs around here.

Clint ordered this for his main dish. I have no idea what it is. But he seemed to like it. I know it had sausage and noodles and some kind of sauce. But I was too busy eating mine to even think about trying to steal a bite of his.

This was mine. Doesn’t look so good with the shells. I had to get the clams out before I could even think of starting. And no, that wasn’t all the clams in there. The sauce was filled with them. As Rachel Ray would say “yummo”.

Then Clint had to go and order this. So before he could demolish it all I did a quick jab with my fork and got a bite. He knew to steer clear or he’d get forked. It was wonderful cheesecake.

But I ordered this. Clint wouldn’t try it. The ends were dipped in nuts. Oh well, more for me.

The food at this place reminds us of when we lived in Italy. That is probably why it’s our favorite place to eat. I love eating meals with courses. I miss that. I miss a meal lasting anywhere from an hour to two hours. Yes, we did eat a lunch at a restaurant that took 2 hours. And with an 18 month old that is not that fun. Luckily we had a really great 18 month old.

The only problem with this restaurant I can find is that I eat way too much.

WOW! That does look good. I don’t know how far the drive is from Tulsa but I’m thinking my husband and I may need to take an over night trip to come check it out. I’ve never been up that way, so it is a good excuse.

I wish there were this type of restuarant near us here in Boonieville. There is a Swiss one an hour away but that’s it. If I want this type food, we have to fix it ourselves. *Sigh* – just not the same.

I don’t have an iPhone, but I have the Blackberry Tour. The camera is AMAZING. It is almost as good as my normal one. Your meal looks delish!

Yes, iPhone is a wonderful thing. I’d be lost without it! :)

Mmmmmm! That’s Shaun and my favorite too! While the boys were in karate Shaun and I met for Monday night dinners there after he dropped the boys off at karate and after my class. It was perfect! We haven’t been many times in the past few months since their karate ended. We’ve talked about going again several times and thanks to you now I’ll be craving it. Yay for cravings! We’ve brought the boys for dinner there a few times also. They are super well behaved in nice restaurants and we are always complimented by other patrons (who probably were not happy to see them there in the first place).

    I’m soooo hungry now!

This sounds so wonderful, I had to look up the restaurant’s website to see where it is. We went to Italy 2 summers ago, and like you say, miss the food and the relaxed multicourse dinners. Maybe sometime when we’re going between our home in Naruna (you commented on my husband’s blog once – the one about “eatin’ and meetin’”!) and our daughter’s home in Nebraska, we can try out Della Voce!
