How are you feeling?

by the Provident Woman | November 29th, 2009

Thanksgiving is over. I feel like I ate a ton of bricks. If someone could please keep me from grazing like a cow the whole time maybe my diet plan would work.

This is how I feel now.

He did this after eating 2 breakfasts, 3 lunches, and a huge dinner on Thanksgiving. He couldn’t keep himself awake the next day. He has never and I mean NEVER fallen asleep with me holding him. Even as a baby he would feel himself start to doze off and start squirming until I put him down. Then he’d sleep like a log. But no, not this time. This little guy cuddled up on me with his head on my shoulder in my big comfy chair while I watched some TV. The next thing I know, he’s snoring so loud in my ear I can’t hear the TV. It didn’t matter, I was falling asleep too. So I wiggled myself off the chair afraid I’d wake him and having him take a nap with me for the first time ever would be over. Luckily I made it to my room. I gently placed him on my bed. Ahhh, he opened his eyes. Oh, it’s okay they drooped close again. I cuddled right up next to him and fell asleep.

An hour and a half later I wake up. I get up and he is still snoring like crazy. I love this little man. I just wish I had the time to sleep like this with him all of the time. And that he’d let me.

I felt bad. When I woke up I realized I had left Clint to put up all of the Christmas lights on the outside of the house by himself. Oops. Sorry, honey. You know I love ya! Thanks for letting me and the little man rest for a while. I didn’t even hear you up on the roof.

Turkey tryptophan overdose! And don’t you just love the pictures you take of your kids sleeping. One of my favorites from my oldest is the Christmas morning that I found her sound asleep at the head of the stairs, covered with her favorite blanket and with her alarm clock right in front of her face so that she wouldn’t miss a thing.

I loved it when I was able to take naps with my daughters when they were little. Your little man is a doll!
