Fish In A Bag

by the Provident Woman | December 28th, 2009

We have had a crazy holiday! I say crazy, but I really mean super, crazy, fun! And busy. Christmas eve we headed out early to my mother and father in laws. The weather was getting pretty bad so we took it slow. But guess who came with us. Well, they followed us there because they were so sad to see us leave.

My parents, brother and sister. That’s right! Clint’s folks invited my whole family to have Christmas with them since Clint’s sisters and their families couldn’t be there.

My children loved having all of their grandparents there!

And we had both of our families best cooks! Woo Hoo! They did most of the cooking!

So we stuffed our faces with wonderful food for Christmas eve supper and then we were all ready to crash for the night and wait for Santa.

But first Anya had to write her letter to Santa.

The inside of the card said “I want a fish in a bag and a rocking horse and dress-up clothes like in the movie diamond princess. And my sister wants it too! Love Anya”.

I’m a horrible mother and forgot to make cookies for Santa. So Santa got a slab of yule log and a couple of peanut butter chocolate balls. And who could forget the glass of milk.

Santa must have liked it because there were presents galore when we woke up at FIVE in the morning. Thanks Dean! My kids were wonderful. Yes, they woke up all of the grandparents and my sister, but they waited two hours before waking up my brother. And then they waited until we ate breakfast to open presents.

Dean got everything he wanted. He doesn’t even care he can’t reach the pedals.

Anya didn’t get her fish in a bag, but all three kids got fish in a tank.

I guess they’ll just have to settle.

And wait until you see what Clint got me. It’s amazing how the man can take a hint.

Although you couldn’t prove this by the pile of presents under the tree, Christmas is about family. When Mary and Clint married, her father and I decided this was a great opportunity to increase the number of people in our family to love. This is actually the second Christmas together. Three years ago we hosted his entire family for several days for Christmas. What fun. But GIRLS – take the opportunity to give us moms at least one meal YOU cook and give us a break. Love – Mom

What is fish in a bag? Is she meaning how when you buy a goldfish, they give it to you in a bag to take home?
    Too cute!
    Love the tractor!
My son would die if he got one! :)

I can’t believe you are just going to leave us hanging like that. We always come back to read anyways, you don’t have to dangle some bait like that! I absolutely love the tractor. I miss my boys being little. All they asked for was computers, ipods and weapons. Real ones, to hunt with. Not play ones like they used to.

So, personally, I think Santa gets mighty tired of plain ol’ cookies. I’m sure your yule log and peanut butter balls went over smoothly! Looks like you all had an amazing time! =)
